Web Scribe is ready for takeoff!

Earlier this year we launched our web based version of Scribe and some of our customers have already been moved over and are enjoying using the new version.

The new web Scribe allows you to manage your council’s accounts wherever you are, whenever you like on any type of device.

There are no downloads or installations required and it fully supports HMRC’s Making Tax Digital.

Your data will be fully moved over and a short introductory session will be held to talk you through the new design.

Once you have completed your year end for 2018/2019 all we require is a back up file of your data 24 hours prior to your appointment to move your data over. You can send this to [email protected]

Meet the Scribe team

It’s been almost a year since Hannah and Jade joined Jane and the Scribe team and over the last 12 months it’s very likely you’ve spoken to one of us! We thought it might be nice to give you a brief introduction to the team and put a face to a name!

Hannah is our Support Accountant and general guru for all things numbers! Hannah is mum to Harry and Erin and enjoys an active life in the countryside with her gamekeeper husband Ben and their Labrador Millie.

Jade is our Account Executive and works with new and prospective customers to show them all that Scribe can offer and supports with bringing our newest councils on board. Jade is mum to Bella and Darcy and enjoys taking the families two dogs Lilly and Indi on adventures around Norfolk with partner Charlie.

Jane is our original Scribe team member and our in house Scribe extraordinaire! Jane manages the day to day running of Scribe and lives in a tiny North Norfolk village with her two children Eve and Oliver. Together with partner Stu, Jane enjoys walking along our beautiful Norfolk beaches and is an avid Norwich City FC fan.

And finally Wayne – the face behind the New Web Scribe! Wayne is our Head of Technology and is our go to for all things IT related. Wayne is dad to Ru and Hugo and enjoys spending time together with wife Anna travelling places near and far! Wayne has just returned from visiting his sister in Australia.

Year End Webinar

Year End is now well underway and in case you missed one of our Webinars you can click here to watch a recording.

It covers preparing for Year End, completing the Year End in both Receipts and Payments and Income and Expenditure and how to start the new financial year and close off the old one.

There is also loads of help and support available on our website with a dedicated section on Year End.

If you are still struggling or have any questions not covered by the webinar or help articles please feel free to get in touch.  We are available 5 days a week via phone or email or if you’d prefer you can book a one to one session with Hannah, our Support Accountant by clicking here.

Local Council Clerk’s Community

We have created a new Facebook Community open to all Clerk’s and RFO’s. This group is non Scribe specific and simply a place for those working in the local council sector to seek advice, share idea’s and have open discussions on topics and news that have an impact on their roles and community’s with fellow Clerks.

If you would like to join the discussion please click here

NALC Spring Conference

Last week we attended the Norfolk Association of Local Councils Spring Conference where we enjoyed catching up with lots of familiar faces and meeting many new ones too.

As our new web based version of Scribe has now been launched we held demonstrations not only on the laptop but an ipad and mobile too – we are now truly accessible anywhere!

We are looking forward to attending many more events throughout the year so look out for us and please do come and say hello.
