Ray Evans has authored a number of books and stage plays and after accidentally getting embroiled in local government he elected to enrol for CiLCA, the go-to qualification for anyone entering the world of governance administration. He completed the course during the pandemic and to amuse himself scribbled notes about his experiences of online teaching. Without realising it, he had effectively written a book, not as an expert but purely from the perspective of a novice clerk trying to make some sort of sense of this highly specialised world. Before completing the final chapter of the book, John Fagan, CEO, Scribe, suggested to Ray that perhaps a webinar styled in the manner of the book, informal but searching out where the stresses of daily life as a clerk might be lurking, would form a beneficial epilogue.
